I am honored and privileged to serve as President of the Texas Water Utilities Association. I have been involved in the organization for 28 years. During that time, I have seen the association grow and evolve to meet the changing needs of its membership.
TWUA was established in 1918 because there was a need to educate water and wastewater operators. As in the past, the association continues to provide quality training and technical publications to those employed in and interested in the water and wastewater industry. Texas has one of the best systems for operator training in the United States, and TWUA is recognized as being one of the top training providers in Texas. TWUA has a lot to be proud of; however, none of this success would have been possible without the efforts of many individuals who have been willing to donate their time and talents to make TWUA a success.
TWUA can be proud of how far we have come in 94 years; however, we must continue to grow, improve, change, and adapt in order to provide the training needed by utilities personnel. We need to remember our past accomplishments with pride but focus on continuing the tradition of “Educational Excellence Since 1918.” I hope you will join me in these efforts.
