Chief Plant Operator
The City of Harker Heights is currently
accepting applications for the position of Chief Plant
Operator. Compensation package includes an annual salary
$47,000 plus benefits.
Under general administrative direction
of the Utilities Superintendent, this position supervises
personnel and activities in the wastewater treatment plant
and collection department. Performs tasks pertinent to
controlling operations of an activated sludge plant.
Operates wastewater treatment, sludge processing, and
disposal equipment to control flow and processing of
wastewater, sludge, and effluent. Understands the regulatory
requirements of the plant concerning permitted effluent
quality, reporting and analytical standards, emergency
notifications, permit renewal schedules, inspections, and
local regulatory communications.
High
school diploma or GED. Must possess the current Texas Class
“B” Wastewater certification required of Chief Plant
Operator for the plant he/she is in charge of, and must
maintain said certification for continued employment. Must
possess a valid Texas driver’s license (Class “C”).At least
five (5) years wastewater treatment plant operations at
activated sludge facility, and at least five (5) years
experience in mechanical maintenance necessary.

Wastewater Treatment Plant Lead Operator
The City of College Station is recruiting for the position
of Wastewater Plant Lead Operator. The Wastewater Plant Lead
Operator assists the Wastewater Treatment Supervisor
overseeing and participating in the operation and
maintenance of two wastewater treatment plants and nine lift
stations to ensure compliance with applicable federal and
state rules and regulations. The successful candidate must
have a high school diploma or GED equivalent, a TCEQ class C
Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License, a class B CDL
issued by the State of Texas, and attain a class B
Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator License within one (1)
year. The successful candidate must also possess knowledge
of wastewater treatment plant operations and process
control, operation and maintenance of light and heavy
equipment used in wastewater treatment plant operations,
knowledge of safety hazards and safe-practice standards, the
ability to wear and use personal protective equipment, and
must! be available for emergency response. Weekend work will
be required, and shift work may be required. The City offers
a competitive compensation plan and benefit package that
