Safety Committee Sponsorship for Activity Book

Did you know the TWUA Safety Committee members and the TWUA Central Office staff are there when you need help with making safety a top priority with your membership? The water utility profession has one of the highest accident rates of any industry in the nation, including the mining industry. The accident and death rate of our workforce is too high, especially in the areas of trenching and confined space entry. It is management's responsibility to provide us with the safety equipment to perform our jobs efficiently and safely, but it is our responsibility to know how to use the equipment and recognize the dangers we encounter each and every day. Those employed in the water utilities profession are a great group of dedicated employees committed to the protection of the public we serve and our environment. We need to be dedicated to our own safety, the safety of the public, and that of our co-workers.

The TWUA Safety Committee encourages each district, chapter and section, to have at least two of your monthly programs each year dedicated to a safety issue.
