| The
growing complexity of the water utilities industry, and the specialization
of those employed in the profession, has led to the creation of
another unit within the Association known as Sections. The T.W.U.A.
Sections have been formed to meet the education and training needs
of certain specialized fields. The Association currently has three
Sections, which are briefly described as follows:
- Laboratory
Analysts' Section
- The Laboratory Analysts' Section
of the Texas Water Utilities Association consists of several
Chapters serving the various regions of Texas. Meeting locations
and times for each Chapter are announced in monthly newsletter/meeting
notices along with information concerning the particular training
to be provided. This training is designed to benefit all analysts
in the area of environmental testing. Meetings are generally
centered around safety, quality control, testing methodologies
and innovations in the field of environmental laboratory instrumentation.

Pretreatment
and Environmental Section
The Pretreatment and Environmental
Section of the Texas Water Utilities Association is our newest
Section. It was recognized in March, 1998, and exists to provide
education and training to those involved in industrial pretreatment
inspections for a municipality or other utility. The P.E.S.
also established three local Chapters.
